The best $72 I ever spent was when I bought the internet package on my first cruise in 2017 and I was 7 years sober. I went with about 15 friends, and my roommate was a social drinker and very gregarious. On the second day of the cruise, it felt like the ship got smaller and the people got louder. I couldn’t get a moment’s peace. I would go to the Friends of Bill meeting every day, but no one showed up until the next to the last day of the cruise. Answering the emails that came in to the 12th Step Committee, was the only thing that kept me sane. I have been on several cruises since then, and keeping in touch with my online service job always makes the cruise more enjoyable.
