Group Report for AA Meeting Online - Oct 2023
AA Meeting Online (aameetingonline.com) was established on November 16, 2017 to help recovering alcoholics attend AA meetings online. We are members of an online area (72) and an online district (25) in the GSO.
AA Meeting Online holds 26 meetings a week and is attended by members from all over the United States as well as from Canada, Europe, South America and Africa. Meeting attendance averages around 48 to 60 at our 7:30 AM meetings with lighter attendance (7-15 members) at our noon and evening meetings.
Our official group service roles consist of:
-Treasurer
-Secretary
-GSR and alternate (Area 72/District 25 (online only))
-IGR and alternate (OIAA)
-Rotating Meeting Chairpersons.
We also recently created a Hospital & Institutions Chairperson role and voted a member into that role. He and others in our group are collaborating with an effort being driven by a District 25 (Area 72) committee to bring online meetings to facilities.
Other service responsibilities are fulfilled in an unofficial manner by members, including:
-Meeting Chair coordinators
-Business Meeting Chairperson
-Chip Distribution coordinators
-Monitoring and filtering of online bombers
-Posting of readings and other key information in the meeting Chat
-Technical support.
Meeting participants are invited to stay online for a “meeting-after-the-meeting” to welcome newcomers and for people to exchange contact information and to seek sponsorship and sponsee opportunities.
